ID Document & Photo Lot: Latvian Legion (Latviešu Leģions) 15. SS Waffen Grenadier Division Füsilier Soldier's Soldbuch, Student ID Ausweis, Technicians Certificate and Unit Photos!!!
Being offered is a one-of-a-kind wartime grouping for a Latvian man who joined and saw wartime service with the Latvian Legion (Latviešu leģions) of the German Waffen SS! The grouping includes the following:
Wartime issued twenty-one page Latvian Soldbuch, which is complete with all pages intact. The soldbuch is completely filled out with handwritte and typed entries along with official stampings a passphoto pic of the holder of the soldbuch in Waffen SS uniform attached! The soldbuch offers many details on the holders wartime life, showing that he joined the SS in 1944 and was initially attached to the 3. Kompanie of SS Füsilier Bataillon 15 (15. Waffen SS Grenadier Division) and later in 1945 was attached to Grenadier Ausb. Ersatz Bataillon 15. In 1945, the holder of this grouping was wounded and hospitalized for almost a month.
One wartime issued two sided Schulerausweis (Student) ID card for the holder of this lot, with handwritten entries and stampings noted (1943/44).
One wartime issued two sided paper certtificate for the holder of this lot showing that he completed a radio technicians course, with handwritten entries and stampings noted (1944).
Eleven orginal wartime photos showing an outdoor a Latvian Legion (Latviešu leģions) SS unit ceremony with ranking officers reviewing troops lined up in field (Note SS and Latvian flags present). The photos each measure to be approximately 2.5” x 1.75” inches in size.
