Offered is a wonderful lot concerning the life of Luftwaffe Oberleutnant WALTER HARTIG, who was awarded the Knights Cross in 1942, which serving as the Chef of 3. Batterie, Leichte Flak-Abteilung 91 (mot.). Walter Hartig would at the end of the war be listed as KIA during fighting around TREBNITZ, Germany on April 12, 1945. The lot seems to be a collection of items associated with Walter Hartig's wife, Helga Hartig, which includes the following:

  • Seventy-seven (77) wartime photos of Helga and Walter Hartig, with forty-six being uniformed military pics. The photos show wonderful views of Hartig's wedding, time spent on leave with his family, in field with his unit, pics of him wearing his Knights Cross, Helga posed in front of a 8.8cm flak gun batterie position, etc. Really some beautiful and intimate wartime views.

  • An original oil cloth 'Deutsches Reich Kennkarte' (ID) issued Helga. The ID is in good condition with some folding at the corners and fading of some of the ink text inside it. The ID has a passphoto pic of Helga inside along with official issuing stampings.

  • A two page disability card with state stamps attached on page 2; which was dated in 1942.

  • One postwar postcard written to Helga, stamped and dated in 1954.
