Being offered is an absolute rarity, which in this case is an original German Soldbuch for a Wehrmacht soldier who saw service in the famed Grossdeutschland Division and who ultimately died of wounds suffered in battle in May of 1945. The Solduch offered is complete and in in excellent condition, with a uniform photo holder of the paybook being present (note you can just barely see the GD unit shoulder boards on his right) and all pages being intact and attached! The Soldbuch is filled with entries and stampings, showing this soldier saw service with units in GD including 2. / Panzer Grenadier Ersatz Brigade (mot.) Grossdeutschland! The holder of this Soldbuch was wounded in action and entered a hospital at BEDERKESA, Germany on April 26, 1945, succumbing to his wounds on the last day of hostilities on Europe on May 8, 1945! On April 30, 1945, this soldier was awarded the Wound Badge in Black, while hospitalized.
