Offered for sale is a wartime original Kriegsmarine auxillary cruiser war badge (Kriegsabzeichen für Hilfskreuzer). Constructed of gilded and silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Kriegsmarine eagle clutching a swastika, surrounding a central depiction of a Viking longship sailing through the Northern Hemisphere. The reverse side of the badge has a fastening pin in place, which is a little loose but firmly attached. Also present are the stamped manufacturers marking of “R.S.” (Rudolf Souval, Vienna). Really a very rare and much sought after war badge of the Kriegsmarine priced to sell!
